History of the School
Bidya Bharati School (an English Medium School) was established on 2nd November 1965 by Vidya Bharati Society for Educational and Scientific Advancement, a registered Society under the West Bengal Society’s Registration Act, having its registered office at 44/2, Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata – 700027.
The primary objective of the Society was to establish an Institution of repute which will provide a well oriented Education system to the girls of Kolkata and its suburbs.
The school which started with 5 students soon blossomed into a full fledged school getting its affiliation from Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal. The first Batch of students for the School Final Examination appeared in 1970. The school has grown from its infancy to its present status and Glory under the tender care and devotion of the dedicated staff.
The school today has under its fold 4500 students in 3 units.

As I walk down the hallways of the school everyday, I can hear the chatter of eager minds, the shouts of excitement, the thump of dancer feet and the sound of melodious voices harmonizing. The perpetual energy, movement and enthusiasm permeate the atmosphere of Bidya Bharati School, Mominpore. We are a school with a difference!
Dear Students, schooling is our first contact with the world, a period of joy, healthy competition, adjustment, sharing and love. It is not the wide open spaces, neither the classrooms nor the library and the assembly hall that make the school. It is the heart and enthusiastic participation by “you”, my dear students, willing contribution of teaching and non-teaching staffs and the overwhelming response by our co-operative parents which blends harmoniously to create a true and successful institution.
Learning is not a process limited to schools and colleges only, nor does it end with the conclusion of one’s school career. It is indeed a lifelong process. Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is not education at all.” Even as we impart education to match the advancement in technology and globalization, we march our children ahead with ethos of moral values and principles. Children must be taught how to think, not what to think. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the future.
Dear students, it is my message to you all that the people of fine character live by their values. They are honest and are committed to truthfulness in thought, word and deed. Character creates self respect, which in turn leads to high self esteem. Maturity is reflected in all aspects of character – the decisions we make, the friends we choose and the responsibilities we accept. What you are is God’s gift to you. What you become is your gift to God .
Bring out the best in you! With warm wishes and God’s blessings.

Every day as I walk along the corridors of our school I am envigorated by the sounds of eager excited groups of my students who exude confidence in their day to day activities of studies, sports, scientific experiments and cultural activities. I get the pleasure of observing bright faces of my very young students.
Our school treats them as individuals and not a bunch of students who can be moulded in one singular pattern. Each child is treated here as a distinct individual who has her own creativity and innovation. At the same time we inculcate discipline, moral values and integrity.
Besides knowledge imparted through books we actively encourage students to take part in extracurricular activities like dance, drama, organizing science exhibition and sports. Our school has a spectacular basketball court in the campus. We also involve our students in Maths Olympiad and hold classes under Abacus.
We constantly upgrade our teaching methods by adopting latest techniques so that our students never have a dull day in school and eagerly come to school every day. We keep interacting with parents on a regular basis to understand the needs of the students.
Our mission is to provide smart, intelligent and responsible citizens of the society.
With best wishes
